Rumour had it that the Warren House Pub in Cannon Beach, Oregon (Tolovana) was a good place to have dinner, so we gave it a try.
This is a restaurant with good atmosphere, and the table near the fireplace was cozy, but the food is only average. I usually have fish and chips on the west coast, but I decided to go for the oysters this time. I should have tried the fish and chips, it might have been better. There was nothing really wrong, but there was nothing really good either. Definitely average food, not something worth going back for.

Pacific Oyster Company, Bay City, Oregon
I had one of the best oyster dinners I've ever had yesterday.
My wife and I were driving along the Oregon coast visiting antique shops - antiquing she calls it. I told her she could pick a restaurant and she said, "That one."
I asked her, "Where?"
She was pointing to what looked like a dock in Bay City, Oregon and I could see anything that looked like a restaurant. She said, "There. That blue building."
So we turned off 101 and went down a side road toward the Pacific Ocean, around a corner of the blue building, and there was the Pacific Oyster Company and their restaurant. It's not a fancy restaurant. And you can look through big windows to see the workers processing fish or oysters or some type of seafood. I'm not sure what because when we got there they were just finishing cleaning up.
I didn't have high hopes, it looked too plain -- more like a fast food style -- and staffed by high school students. What would they know about good cooking? I ordered oysters.
Wow! They were about the best oysters I've had. Huge in size. Tender. Tasty. An excellent meal that we both thoroughly enjoyed. So if you happen to be in Bay City, Oregon, stop by the Pacific Oyster Company for an excellent meal.
